What things should be kept in mind before buying a laptop? Your brain... ;-)
Kidding aside, a celeron would probably be fine.
Celeron would be a decent buy. But given how much more load the net will require in the future, I would suggest something with a Core 2 Duo. You can find laptops below $1000 with that processor.
Hi Drizzle,
I am not too keen on technology but I would greatly suggest you check out this site about Intel Celeron: http://www.intel.com/products/processor/... For me, I usually take into consideration the following:
1. Brand name (from experience, I learned first hand that it is wiser to spend "more" on technology...instead of buying a cheaper brand which will be soon outdated)
2. Service center (would be it be accessible to me?) and after service (that I am assured I can always approach them if something goes wrong with my laptop) I am buying a new laptop - help! - Chess.com:: 20 posts - Last post: Dec 2, 2008The main thing, nobody told you before: do you need or not a dedicated video card? 3. Internal features (is the laptop compatible to my printer? could I access other networks through my laptop?)
4. Added benefits or outside features (weight of the laptop? is it wide screen? etc.)
5. Is it user friendly? (is it easy to learn? or applicable to my computer needs?)
6. Comments from current users (if they experience any difficulty with the after service, parts or durability?)
Hope this will help.
