Long story. I'll try to make it short.
Austin is this eighth grader I have a crush on. He's really sweet, and has the kind of personality that makes you feel special, no matter how terrible your day has been. He lights up the room just by walking in it, and his cologne only works on him. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to never see him again.
Now I kinda do.
His cousin, Samantha, has been my friend since the third day of school. She's a great person all around - we have a lot in common. Her friend, Rhianna, who is also my friend, is the same way. We talk every day.
Wednesday, Rhianna told me that Austin was a jerk. She said he can't be trusted, and that he's a manipulator who would be your friend for a week, then crush your soul and its contents. She told me it happened to her. I was really surprised - confused, too, and upset, and lost. He's just the kind of guy that would never look or act like he'd do you wrong.
I asked Sam about it in Latin the next day, and she confirmed what Rhianna told me. She told me he's done it plenty of times to girls just like me, and she told me that he talks behind my back. I asked her, tentatively, what he said, and she told me he calls me Rosie O'Donald - because he thought I was fat.

I was really upset, then. Sam told me to leave it be, but I was fuming. Friday, I texted him. Here's the contents of our conversation:
Me: "So you think I'm fat?"
Austin: "Whaa?"
Me: "Heard you were talking behind my back."
Austin: "Who told you?"
Me: "I'd tell you, but they don't want to be named."
Austin: "Let me guess - Sam Lying *****?"
Me: "It wasn't Sam."
Austin: "Mhm. She's the one I told it to."
Me: "Thanks. You're such an asshole."
Austin: "I'm sorry."
Me: "Not good enough."
Austin: "Who told you?"
Me: "Two people, my best friends."
Austin: "Then Sam and Rhianna. Who make fun of you A LOT."
Me: "I don't believe you. They wouldn't do that."
Austin: "So you think."
Me: "Why would you say that about me?"
Austin: "Idk. I'm sorry."
Me: "..Okay."

well I would believe Sam, Why? Only because it wasn't till you asked her about what Rhianna had said to you was true or not. Sam didn't want to start anything or hurt your feelings or she would of told you what Austin had said about you long before you brought up what Rhianna had said.

I would believe your friends. Just by reading the texts Austins is obviously a big loser who doesn't deserve you. And like a master manipulator they always try to push things off themselves by blaming other people, don't listen to him that your friends make fun of you alot too.I know you like this guy but theres always more fish in the sea, why don't you give your attention to someone who is worthy of your time. Well Austin admitted it, so there's your answer...find someone else to crush on! If he would say something like that about you, he'd be a crappy boyfriend anyway. If he has the kind of personality that makes you feel special....well, he works at it. That's what they cll a player. He does it on purpose just so girls will feel the way you do right now.
I think that you should wait until Austin has calmed down about them telling you that he talked about you, and then ask him if he was telling the truth, if they REALLY said that stuff about you. And then ask the girls about it afterwards. I think he was just mad at them for "outing" him, honestly, but if they were making fun of you then you deserve to know the truth. When you confront them DON'T say "I heard you two have been making fun of me behind my back!" that sounds accusatory and would make them mad, just tell them "Austin told me that you two make fun of me behind my back all the time. Want to go confront him together?" If the three of them start arguing amongst each other, you'll see VERY quickly who's lying. Just be sure and tell the girls beforehand that you confronted him about what they said, so that there are no surprises at the showdown.

They're probably all lying on some level. Sorry. At least you got the guy to admit it and apologize. Why not call out the girls to see if Austin was telling you the truth when he said they talk about you (he was prob trying to cover his a$$)? But ask them separately so they don't have a chance to gang up on you. And good for you for going to the source! Hope it works out. Don't let their words get in the way of who you are!
