I'm asking this because i noticed that sometimes they even worship Mary more then Jesus who is the Son of God, and the Bible doesn't ask us to worship Mary that much as they do! Why?
You need to do some reasearch before you make false statemnts, especially for everyone else to see. Catholics do not worship Mary. We worship God. We think because God thought Mary was special enough to be chosen as the mother of Jesus that she deserves honor and respect and devotion. Catholics pray to Mary, not to answer our prayer, because only God can do that, but to intercede on our behalf. You know if you are online, it really is a quick Yahoo search to get some information. By the way, we also do not worship statues. Religous art has been around for thousands of year, as long as the Catholic Religion. Do you keep pictures of your loved ones close by? It is the same thing. I hope I have opened your eyes to proceed with more research and hopefully share it with others.
As a Christian, you should not pray to the Virgin Mary. If you do, you are making it an idol. Catholics think of Mary as being the holy and righteous one because she is the one who conceived Christ. The right attitude should be to praise God for the immaculate conception and pray to Jesus, your Lord and Savior.
If you worshi Jesus, you must also show appreciation to The Virgen Mary. She was responsible for bringing Jesus onto this Earth, so she was an irreplacable part of salvation.
much the same reasons people worshiped the queen of sheba

They show reverence to her because without her, Jesus son of God would not have been born.
She made it possible by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT.
God chose her among trillions and trillions of possible
women because he found her perfect for his SON JESUS.
Many people have the misconception that Catholics worship Mary but the fact is that reverence is what they pay to Mary.
Mary was and is so important that at the Wedding feast that Jesus attended, Mary asked for Jesus's help and Jesus did help and converted the water into wine at her request. This was a great miracle and he said, "Woman it is not my time", but he did it anyways because he loved, respected and honored his Blessed Holy Mother.
Jesus gave us many examples that we must follow and respect and love for his Holy Mother is one of many.

islam tries to cut down Jesus and his Holy Mother by saying
that Jesus was only a "prophet" and when they are among other Christians but when they are alone or among muslims they say "mohammed is the only prophet" so which is it? This proves that they are a lying religion that only looks to promote violence and hatred.
How can they lie and think people will not understand and catch on?

islam cannot understand the Holy Trinity of God thats
why it tries to discount it.
A Christian believes in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
God does say the Jesus is his son when Jesus was in the Jordan river and John the Baptist was baptising him.
The clouds open up and said, "This is my Son in whom I am well pleased".
Jesus himself said, "You see me and you see the Father".
Jesus didn't say You and I look like the Father.
Jesus, God the Father and God the Holy Spirit are the 3 persons One Holy God called the Holy Trinity. islam cannot understand this because they choose to deny the deity of Jesus but those of you who have ears to hear and eyes to see, read the Holy Bible and understand it.
Read the 4 gospels and all the new testament so that you will see the love that is there.
Maybe because they have misunderstood the true message of Allah
The Messiah, Jesus Son of Mary
â O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion, and do not say anything concerning Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers . . . â (Qurâ an 4:171; see also 66:12).
In the above passage Jesus in called by four noble titles. He is the Messiah, the Messenger of Allah, a Word from Allah, and a Spirit from Allah. In the same passage, it is clear that the Qurâ an seeks to discourage exaggeration in religion. Further in the same passage, Allah says:
â Allah is only One God. Far is it removed from His transcendent majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defenderâ (Qurâ an 4:171).
Refusing to call Jesus son of God is not done with a view to belittle Jesus. No! On the contrary, it is done to Glorify God, to magnify His name, and to proclaim His transcendent majesty.
The Qurâ an confirms that Jesus was born of a virgin. When the angel announced to Mary, on whom be peace, that she will bear a child, she said:
â My Lord! How can I have a child when no mortal has touched me?
She received the following reply:
â So (it will be). Allah creates what He will. If He decrees a thing, He says unto it only: Be! and it is. (Qurâ an 3: 45, 47).
In another surah, after relating the incidents surrounding the birth of the Messiah, the Qurâ an concludes as follows:
â It befits not (the majesty of) Allah that He should take unto Himself a son. Glory be to Him! When he decrees a thing, He says unto it only: Be! and it is. (Qurâ an 19:35).
The Qurâ an seeks to correct a common misconception in the minds of people. Many assume that since Jesus had no father then God must be his father.
Glory be to Allah. He does not father children. He created everyone we know from a man and a woman. But He created Adam from neither a man nor a woman. And He created Eve from a man, but not from a woman. Then, as if to complete the picture, God created Jesus from a woman but not from a man. God has demonstrated His power to create in every way.
Allah says:
â Lo! the likeness of Jesus with Allah is as the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then he said unto him: Be! and he isâ (3:59).
It is important to realise that Jesus, on whom be peace, never taught that he is the Son of God. Allah says that those who call Jesus â Son of Godâ are following the saying of other people (see surah 9:30). Jesus taught only what he was commanded (5:117). He himself was quite pleased with being a servant of Allah (4:172). As a messenger of Allah, Jesus knew that none in the heavens or the earth can approach Allah except as a slave (19:93).
Finally, those who say that God has a son should know that they have no warrant for this, but they are saying something without knowledge (10:68).
I saw some info about this on CNN at Easter on a special they had.
They said the reason Mary became such an important part of the Catholic church is that in the early days of the church they were converting a lot of pagans who worshiped female gods (I guess that would be goddesses), and it made things a lot easier having Mary being an important part of the church to get those people to convert...
Jeremiah refers to an idol god the "queen of heaven." (Jer. 7:18, 44:17-25) The story of Mary, the mother of Jesus, gave an opportunity to idol worshippers to legitimize their idol worship. Mary was blessed, but not worthy of worship. Levitivus 19:4 says, "Do not turn to idols, nor make for yourselves molded gods: I am the LORD your God." Many catholics are walking a fine line!
Why worship anyone for that matter? Why not just be glad that you have a little bit of time on this rock and chill the F out.
for one thing they dont. i have some close freinds that are catholics and i asked them this once. they beleve in some thing called the brotherhood of saints, this meens that they ask others even those who are dead to pray for them. this does not meen that they worship them, but it would be the same as if i asked one of my freinds to pray for me. the bible says that if you beleve in Jesus Christ then you never die, so there for you can talk to those who sleep in christ. you need to do some study on this from both sides.
I believe Catholicism has had some bad teaching throughout its history. There is nothing in the Holy Bible that mentions equating Mary with or making her above God. They are just misinformed.
I am sad to see so many Catholics who do not know their Catechism. Catholics DO WORSHIP Mary. The word worship does not mean that we think someone is God that we worship. It means a form of honor or respect. God is given the worship of Latria-- meaning the way we serve an honor God is to Him alone, the form of worshipping the Saints is Dulia, and the form by which we worship Mary is called Hyper-Dulia. None of these theological terms are the same. Any worship given to Mary or the saints is given to God on high, to honor God's holy ones and Our Lady is to honor God for His greatness and mercy.
We revere Mary as the mother of Jesus.
Why do you worship Jesus?
None of it makes a lick of sense to an outsider.
That's what they do. And you're prolly a different religion just by the way you said your question.
because the real god is a goddess.
The feminist part of God has been circumcised out of all religions. God is a patriarchal force, a very masculine energy, with the feminine having been subservient; either being the mother, the lover, the virgin, but never the equal
The God-force must be feminized, perceived more as a God-Goddess. Jesus, his mother, â His churchâ all must be redefined. Especially a figure like Mary Magdalene, who I and so many Christian women were taught to despise, because she was a prostitute. Because of that we had great problems coming to terms with the prostitute in ourselves, which again, is something the Church teaches us to deny.
That prostitute in woman is someone who is worthy of honor and respect because she comes from a long line of Goddesses who understood the balance between the sexual and the spiritual, who carried the Blood Royal. But her positive energy-force has been re-appropriated by the Church and denied.
might as well be Mary, people will believe anything the church tells them.
