Okay I have been feeling like this for a while now, but some days I try to ignore it...but I feel like it is time to face up to it....why am I so slow? is there something wrong with me...I am 15-years old, in the tenth grade....I feel like when it comes to academics/ sports everyone is always a step ahead of me...like today we were doing this dance in class and my friends were trying to teach me it...but I kept doing it so terribly wrong...I was always way way behind in the beats and stuff...and like when it comes to all the subjects, I feel like I have really bad comprehension, and I do not get things as well as other people do, like understanding books and stories in english, and numbers and graphs in math....and the concept of science...i have a pretty good memory but when it comes to understanding things I FEEL SOO GOD DAMN STUPID....whats wrongg with mee? My grades aren't terrible, because I kinda try hard, and have a way with words...but when it comes to actually understanding I feel like I just dont get it like other people...I feel like my mind only thinkss in one direction...i feel soo sad and dumb....

Krissyy, You are NOT dumb by any means!! You write beautifully with perfect spelling, and that's saying a lot! Maybe dancing to the beat isn't your "thing." Maybe journalism or copy writing is.
I REALLY think you should talk confidentially to your school counselor. Tell him/her everything you wrote in your question. There's a test you can take to see what you're best at. Getting through high school is hard for EVERYONE. I promise you every student has inside problems and hangups.

wowwww i feel the same sometimes, maybe not as bad as you feel but i know what youre saying. its tough. like my friends do volleyball and basketball and i dont understand like how to do those sports and i look like im not athletic at all but im a cheerleader so they dont know what im actually good at. dont be tough on yourself, because the people around you probably admire you for the things you dont realize that youre good at, like it might not be school smart but it could be life smart. so look back on yourself and appreciate what you have and others dont. everyone has their special talents.

I don't think your dumb at all. You yourself said you "have a way with words". Do you know how many people would love to have that quality?focus on what you consider to be your weaknesses so that you can make them your strengths. You are by no means dumb. And just the fact that it bothered you enough to write about it shows that you are a sensitive person. Don't demean yourself and don't change a thing---unless it's for the better, my friend.

i was the same then i started reading books all the time went and took a reading test again and i had jumped to college reading/english.just from reading love stories.wow!shocked me toooo.
