Why do other denominations believe that catholics worship mary?

This is entirely false. My entire life, I was taught to honour Mary as the Virgin mother of our Lord and Savior.

Of course, I don't agree that Mary was a virgin her entire life. I personally believe that Mary conceived Jesus Our Lord and Savior through the Holy Spirit as a virgin, because for Jesus to be without sin, his mother had to also be without sin.

But she was married to a mortal man, and I think it's weird that he'd agree to marry a woman he was never going to sleep with.

That being said, I honour Mary as the mother of God, and not as "Mary, the other savior."

Why do people think that Catholics worship her?

People like to judge different beliefs. They want another reason to throw stones at the Catholic Church.

I'm not Catholic. I don't mean to be offensive, I'm just trying to answer your question. Catholics pray to Mary right? That is a form of worship.

Because their is such a huge emphasis placed on her. In the Protestant faith, we discuss all the saints equally. Peter, Paul just regular guys. Just like we are regular people.

But Mary gets all these special titles, statues, icons,prayers...

As I learn more about Roman Catholicism, I understand where the Church is coming from. But before this, I thought of it as idoltary the way many Protestants do.

Because they can't tell the difference between honoring and worshiping. They have some sort of mental block you might say. As for all of you anti-catholic bigots, you should throw away your bibles and such, because it was the Catholic church that put the bible together in the first place.

Note that the second part of the Ave Maria says "Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us ..." It doesn't say "Mother of Jesus."
The church I went to as a kid was called 'Mother of God' church.
