Is fashion more important than health. I don't mean people starve to look good. I mean, people who don't eat right, because its cheaper. Like going to $1 menu at McDonald's, but won't buy a pair of tennis shoes under $50.00 dollars. Are there adults who do this?
I dont spend more money on clothes than food i have more than one mouth to feed so when i go out i go the dollar menu.I spend what i need to on clothes cause growing kids need new stuff and i want them to have quality and look good.As for myself I cant remember the last time i got to buy a new pair of tennis shoes for me.
Some people don't spend a lot of money on food, but they still eat. They spend a lot more money on clothes compared to food. They obviously like clothes and want high quality fashion items.
Because apparently, eating is not a priority, but looking fashionable is.
It's ironic isn't it. All these movie stars and fashion models, make mega money and can have the best foods life has to offer!
But they don't or won't eat!
They are all actually striving for a look that was once exclusive to those in the world who are truly hungry and starving!
Why dine on Filet Mignon, when you can, not eat, and look like a crack addict in Dolce and Gabbana couture?
Hello,
Yes, I think they just want to make sure they can stay in those wonderful stylish cloths and not grow sideways out of them - especially if they go to MacDonald's.
Cheers,
Michael Kelly
We are in a society that relies on visual stimulus. "Image is everything". This is how we are judged today. Therefore the right dress and fashion can make or break us to get in the right "clique" or job which may allow us to obtain more money by knowing the right people to advance us monetarily in life.
I like to look pleasant, but is spending gobs of money on clothes a necessity for me? No it is not. I use a combination of timeless clothes of quality with a few fad accessories. I can drop a few dollars on some good base pieces and mix it in with super store clothes. So I've shocked some people when they admire something I wear and I tell them it was merely $10 for the blouse. Now the skirt may have been $60 or vice versa. It all depends on how the article of clothing appears in workmanship. However, I solely rely on my personality to take me to the next level with people.
In my profession, I mix a combination or professional look but not starchy looking or beyond out of reach income appearance with casualness to foster an appearance of approachability for my clients. However, not so relaxed that it does not look like I'm serious and care what I do for a living with my clients who range from "just making it" income level to "I have more money than the President" income society people.
Tennis shoes? LOL. Says a lot about your age.
People that don't buy sneakers under 50 bucks have a reason for it. Most cheap sneakers don't last long, and aren't as comfortable.
Many people that constantly eat foods that aren't "healthy" don't do it because they're cheap, they do it because it's what they've done their whole life.
