and vote republican because they don't like abortion/ and or gay marriage. When there are much more pressing socioeconomic issues facing this country that the republicans have proven they cannot handle.
Abortion is a one issue vote for Democrats.
sorry to disappoint you buddy..
You're right. My one and only issue this election is keeping Obama out of the White House. It should be yours too. Really it should be every Americans only issue.
Do they? Are you positive or are you repeating what CNN told you.
Because they are bitter and they also cling to Guns and Religion.
Their vote their reasons..
For the same reason athiest liberals vote for one or two issues.
The Conservative Christian Newsletter:: Many overtly religious words and phrases have become as common as campaign Why? Carter betrayed conservatives on things like gay rights and big government http://www.wilderness-cry.net/tccn/2002/jan05.htmlHOME | Yeah. The left didn't turn the War in Iraq into a single issue voting situation or anything...
I doubt many really are "one issue voters." You're assuming social conservatives are also not fiscal conservatives and I know this is not the case, at all. I doubt you will find many Christians, for example, who will believe socialism is a good thing. I know that you won't find any Christians who think kicking God out of the public square is a good thing.
yep. sho nuff
Why are dems one issue voters. I know a lot of liberals who would not vote for a person just for being prolife or against gay marriage. Works both ways my friend.
Because judges and Supreme Court Justices have lied about what the Constitution means and it is important to fight the lies coming from the highest court in the land and which has wrongly disempowered the religious conservatives. I think that there is nothing more important than the Constitution itself. No "socioeconomic issue" can be more important than the highest law of the land itself. And not only is the document itself that important, but it is equally important that the document be interpreted accurately and objectively, which is obviously not what has happened in Roe v. Wade and Lawrence v. Texas.
On the other hand, accurate and objective interpretation also did not occur in Bush v. Gore, so I, therefore, will not be voting at all. But I DO understand what motivates the "religious conservatives."
"I care deeply about how the Supreme Court interprets the Constitution, both technically and professionally. But I care even more about what effect that interpretation has had upon the country -- whether it has helped to hold it together or led to its divisions." -- Max Lerner, "Nine Scorpions in a Bottle."
