This is not to say that they are immune from suicide, as we know from some recent cases, but they do seem to fare better in general.

because it's selfish... just because you feel low, you dont consider how your friends and family will feel... what your parents had to go through to get you here.... then you just go and throw it all away...

Fortunately the majority of people will either say that they have no definite plans or that they don't have the nerve to do it themselves.

its negatively impacts loved ones. most people have little to lose from committing suicide but forget to consider others.
You know I believe all this stems from religion. You know a lot of religions tell you what and what not to do and whats right and wrong.
I think thats why they say to commit suicide is wrong.
Now one of the other answers on here said because it causes grief to your family. Yes most definitely it does, and you pretty much said thanks for nothing and decided to be selfish and took your own life. But is it wrong? Its your life and you do what you want to do with it.

What about the people that over eat and slowly kill themselves? Or the person who does drugs all the time and slowly kills themselves? Or the person who does nothing all day and slowly kills themselves? They are the same as someone who immediately killed themselves. Is it wrong? No. Is it right? No. Its just a life that they own. Is it wrong how someone breathes or blinks.? I guess it is what it is ya know.
But if someone is being tortured or is living in a place of poverty and famine. Then I think I'd jump off a cliff. But for a lot of other people who commit suicide because they got a big nose or something stupid like that. I just don't feel bad for them. Again is it wrong to drink clorox and then hang yourself? Maybe for your stomach but outside of that... its your life. <-- as ridiculous as that sounds, that has actually happened in my neighborhood from a really nice jolly man who I thought was on top of the world. Apparently he owed some bad people money so he took his life instead of being murdered..
