many kids lie because they are afraid of what their parents will do to them or how they will react if they tell the truth . an idea to help with the lying situation is to tell your son that you are there for him to talk to if he needs to talk. and if he does come to you with something and he does tell the truth don't be too hard on him maybe give him a warning then a second warning and the third time he "messes up" give him a fair punishment depending on what he did. Say he was stealing, give him his warnings and if he continued to steal then give him a punishment like no hanging out with friends for a couple days or take something away that is important to him. but say he needed the computer for school work don't take the privilege of using the computer away maybe just take away a time he might have to play games on the computer or on his game system. if he continues to lie you should have him talk to someone like a counselor about what is going on.
