I mean, like, they'll do almost anything to meet the celebs.
Why?
There are alot of teenagers ... So Disney is a kid show,....oh since it has kids shows on there that parents approve. They think the J bros are "cute" and they're music is real.

They treat celebrities as if they were more than human, and that's the problem.

I wouldn't completely blame the media. It's not impossible to gain self-control.
because with the jonas brothers, they r honestly not JUST lik, celebrities... they r just regular boys with great voices.
i am with u with the whole DOING ANYTHING to meet them, but once u no them lik i do, they rnt anything SPECIAL. lik ya, ok, joe is hella funny and clumsy. and ya, nick is really sweet. and yes, kevin is really smart.
but wat about them makes them so much better than regular guys in our world...?
i have always wondered that.... and i think the main reason teenage girls wanna meet them is so
"coincidentally they fall in love" and "O the girl REALLY likes him for who he is", NOT just cuz he is makin over $100,000 per concert.
the jonas brothers (no matter if they r my best friends or not) knew exactly what they were doin when they said
they would date a fan.

lik i was just a fan that met them backstage once and now we r best friends. and now that i c they r regular guys, i TREAT them regular, and they no im real.
so the answer is simple.
cuz disney is extremely smart when it comes to teens. :]

It's annoying, right? I'm 14 but I don't obsess over celebrities like a lot of my friends do. I blame the media. The media is what's to blame for a lot of problems in our society. I mean, a celebrity does one thing that any other human being on Earth can do and the media treats it like it is the greatest thing ever done! A lot of foolish children/ teens then believe the media.
Just because someone is on T.V. or in a magazine doesn't mean he or she is the best thing that ever hit the face of the Earth.
Because it is so built up and exciting. Every young girl wants that special cool guy or cool best friend pop star. It always has and always will be this way. When I was little it was all about Nsync and honestly I still love those guys haha! Pathetic isn't it?
They're kids. The JB are celebrities. What's not to get?
They're young and naive and swept away by the drama of it all. Oh my god, an actual famous person. I went through my Disney-obsession phase at age eleven, and I got over it. Don't get me wrong, I'd still love to meet, say, Michael Crawford. But I'm not obsessed.

im actually a recovering jonas brothers fan. im dead serious. i used to be sooooo obsessed, my grades went down, i spent all my time researching them on the internet, had a fansite, the whole thing. Now it is dying down, as i realize there isnt that much to obsess about
I totally agree with you. I mean, I could care less if I meet my favorite celebrity. And I'm definitely not obsessed about them either.
Because they don't know about good music.

I don't think it is just children that become obsessed with Celebrities. Its a fairly large proportion of western society. This is all driven buy a huge money making Jugganaut called the world media and entertainment industry and we are using it right now! How many women had babies yesterday? all of them wonderful little people and hopefully all doting parents why is Nicole's baby so important. she is after all just another mother. It sells papers for people who feel there ordinary lives are insignificant in comparison . well surprise folks we are all insignificant together in the huge universe.
