I could not get my PCIe X1 to recognize in my motherboards PCIe X16 slot. It should work according to PCI express technology a X1 will work in an X4, X8, and X16 slot.

I used Winflash to flash my Shuttle SG33G5B motherboard FG33 to the latest version and it locked after deleting old flash and attempting to write the first 1% of the new flash. The mouse curser wouldn't move and I wated over 10 minutes with no change before hard resetting.

Of coarse after it erased the old firmware I got an unbootable machine.
I've read about recover jumpers but cannot find one. And I can find zero information about an FG33 motherboard manufactured by Shuttle, including from shuttles support website. The closest I can come is referance to the J4 jumper block to change video from HDMI to PCIe in the FAQ's.

Put in Shuttle and you'll see 50 models of shuttle motherboards but no FG33.
I've looked over the motherboard multiple times, the only jumpers I can find are the HDMI referanced earlier and a rear button to clear CMOS settings which I've pushed a dozen times both when system is on and off.
Btw, I've googled for half a day with not much luck. Anyone able to shed some light on what to do next?
