os is xp-pro with word 2002...I created a resume from a templet and it shows 2 pages, however the 2nd page prints blank and it has a box I don't use and I have tried to delete the box and also back space to the 1st page to no avail..I would like to have only one page.thanks

Moved the margins and everything is ok.

You can do a couple of things:
Adjust your top and/or bottom margin.
Turn on paragraph marks, highlight the mark, go to Format/Font and check Hidden or change the point size to 1. You can type in the new point size -- you won't see that size as a selection. Turn off paragraph marks after hiding.

If this doesn't work, are you by chance using Word 97? There is a problem with paragraph marks and boxes that can be fixed by installing the SR-2 patch.
Turn on paragraph marks (toggle on/off with Ctrl + Shift + 8) and see if there are extra marks at the end of your document that force an additional page. Delete them.
If the template is in table format, you cannot delete the final paragraph mark, however, you can hide it or reformat the font size to force it to page 1.
Can you be more specific about the "box" you don't use?
