Word 2003 fonts won't look smooth

    I'm using Word 2003 with all updates installed. For some reason while using word in any view...including while typing, or print preview...any font I use looks very pixelated. They usually show as anti-aliased and very smooth. I have only a few printers installed, and no matter what printer I'm defaulting to use...the view will not change. Is there a setting out of whack?

  • It's a newer HP P4 laptop with ample video memory. The font problem seems to be in Word only. Everywhere else in Windows, browser, Photoshop, etc. everything is as usual. Just seems like Word won't give me a clear view of nice looking fonts for some reason. It has worked in the past.

  • What type of display are you using? CRT or LCD?

    Microsoft has something called Clear Type for use with LCD displays. It has no effect on CRT displays. Try it-
