I am working with word 97 on windows 98.
I am preparing a large document containing text and graphics., in two columns on each page.
I prepared the text, dividing the paragraphs by the column break command and the pages by next page section break. Now I try to insert the graphics in their appropriate places, but Word changes constantly the graphics placement, between the columns. The strait and narrow: using columns:: But for most purposes, snaking columns work admirably. . There are a few limitations and danger areas you should be aware of when working with columns. http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/formatting/UsingColumns.htmHOME |
What is the correct procedure for such work. Is it perhaps better to insert the text paragraphs into previously built graphics columns?
How can the columns on each page be configured to prevent wandering of the various parts of the document??
If you followed my directions, then you should not be placing the graphic in the same cell as the text, and the graphic should have BLACK corners on it when you click it. You can't drag and drop it. You must cut it, put your cursor in the table cell and paste it. Work with SharePoint Content Types and Site Columns using :: An important update to this version has been published. Hi Dreamboat, thanks, but when I insert the graphic into the column I cannot move it and place it in the correct position against the text.
Did i miss something?
Best method:
Forget columns. Insert a two-column table. Put text in one column, graphic in the other. Use a new row for every set of text w/graphic.
Also, when inserting the picture, uncheck the "float over text" option. You cannot place a "floating" picture inside a table cell.
